The official ceremony of the presentation of the Letters of Credence of H.E. Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (with residence in Hanoi).

The official ceremony of the presentation of the Letters of Credence of H.E. Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan, the Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (with residence in Hanoi) took place today, September 7, 2021, at the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The presentation of the Letters of Credence of H.E. Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan, to H.E. Mr. Sengphet HOUNGBOUNGNUANG, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was conditioned by the spread of COVID-19 in South-East Asia and the closed land and air borders between Vietnam and Laos.

The official ceremony of the presentation the Letters of Credence was followed by a meeting, during which the parties discussed the possibilities of development and strengthening of cooperation in the spheres, representing mutual interest, as well as in the framework of international organizations, issues of COVID-19 and its prevention, establishment and expanding of the legal bas between the two States and other issues.

Ambassador Houngboungnuang, greeting his Armenian counterpart, underlined that Mr. Kazhoyan is the first Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia ever to be accredited to the Lao PDR and said that the original of the Letters of Credence will be sent immediately to H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith, the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

In his turn, Ambassador Kazhoyan expressed hope that in the near future Laos will also accredit its non-resident Ambassador to Armenia.

The issue of creating a Union of the Laotians who have studied in Armenia was also discussed during the meeting. At the same time, Ambassador Houngboungnuang mentioned that his wife has also studied in Yerevan for a year.

Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia Aramazd Muradyan and Second Secretary of the Embassy of Laos Somvilay Chanthavong participated in the ceremony of the official ceremony of the presentation of the Letters of Credence of H.E. Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the meeting.
